Work Experience
Just like a saying goes – “Experience makes one perfect”, which has transformed as a belief and observed by major chunk of population around the globe in all walks of life. This holds well in professional world too. Employers believe that an individual with work experience can easily and smoothly gel into the work atmosphere. Recruiters also believe that attrition rate (number of employees opting out of work) will be less when experienced individuals are hired. So, it’s essential for one to demonstrate work experience if any, with details such as the name of the organization; the designation (job title); tenure of service and also the skills acquired.
Now comes the question, what if I am a fresher?
To be fresher with no industry experience is not a sin that one needs to worry about. Instead one should learn and develop skills that can overshadow this weak point (perhaps in the employer’s perspective) on your resume with confidence and strong communication.
However you can mention on your resume that you are a ‘FRESHER’.
Internship
Internship is the word that is most often heard in the professional world these days. This is nothing but a student or a trainee is hired in an organization, sometimes without pay to earn some experience or to cope with the academic requirements. Internship serves hands-on experience to the individual to sustain the real work-world. Targets, deadlines, team work, work pressure such terms make their presence felt by the candidates during the internship period.
So, if work experience is alluded with final exam, internship can be compared to that of preparatory test which infact breaks all the myths and fear that one has and prepares him/her to face the future and more real challenges of life.
Internship qualification should also be displayed on the resume right under work experience. The details that one has to furnish under this section can be quite similar to that of details stated under work experience head. For instance, organization name and its city and state; job title; no. of months or year worked and also skills acquired.
However, you can avoid this section if you do not possess such qualification.
Tip: Kindly mention only such work experience or internship stint that you are able to support with credentials like work experience certificate or internship completed proof.
